Adrian flux added £1200 for lowering and alloys on my first year driving so that would of been £2050 for the car and £1200 for the mods which is crazy, after a look around i found that elephant would insure me £250 less a year with mods, my mods only added £27 on the whole year, so it turns out i got cheaper insurance by adding mods O_O

P.s I'd give elephant a call ;)

I'm with elephant too, they're cheap but properly shit

Customer service is amognst the worst I've experienced

At renewal I'm definitely switching

I'm with flux direct my car has

exhaust

bike carbs

non standard paint (stickers and such)

lowering springs

cam

spot lights

rado seats

alloys

and my quote rose just 80 quid for all of that from 197 a year to 277

Sky refused to insure my car fully comp as it was too old so I took my money to a insurance company that would.

It wouldn't be down to the car's age, it would be the value.

I've just got a great quote from SKY insurance which is £397.00 which is £300 cheaper.

That's good to hear 8-)

I'm fine cos my imported PD150 Golf comes up as an SDI on insurance for some reason.

Then again I can also get insured on a R32 for less than £700 now at the age of 22

Brentacre wouldn't insure my brothers car UNLESS it was modified! And insuring it with them was £150 cheaper than his renewal with LV (Was still well over a grand though)

If it's insured at the SDI, your insurance potentially isn't worth the paper it is written on. You'll find this out at claim time.

Yeah I'd watch that too....

For some reason my G40 comes up as a Coupe S, I make sure and tell the insurance different, and with me it did make a slight difference to the price IIRC.
