2000 reg polo 6n2

Featured Replies

Hi my girlfriend has just bought a 'W' reg polo 6n2. In the add for the car it states that heated door mirrors are fitted but on inspection when i got home with it there is no indication that the door mirrors are heated. How is the best way too find out if they are heated ie fuses to check, nuber of wires in switch? Please help :-(

They turn on with the heated rear screen if fitted.

You could pop a mirror glass out and see if it has wires connected to it, just be careful not to break the glass. :)

If you have a multi-meter, there is a very nice accessory that you can buy from people like Maplin's, you take out the appropriate fuse and just plug this tool in place of it.

If you go down this rout, disconnect the rear screen heater at its plug, set your multi-meter to the 10 Amp range, plug it in in place of the fuse, switch on the ignition and the rear screen heater, if the meter reads more than a few mili-amps (which the warning light would draw) then you have at least one heated mirror, what's more, it works!

Regards.
