The Other Half's Dragon Green 5 Door

Featured Replies

I have been away from the forum for one hell of a long time! But have been lurking again recently as the Missus was after a car for work again, she sold her last one to go to uni...

Went viewing a few 6n's and came home with this last weekend. It is pretty tidy for a car of its age, has had some body repairs and paint on the drivers side which isn't brilliant so will likely look at replacing front and back drivers side doors or getting it done properly. Only done 39,000 miles with 2 previous owners and picked it up for a bargain price!

Picked up some 6n2 rears from a fellow forum member, de-badged the rear and gave it a good clean and polish.

Ordered some coilovers from PhilJ last week so hopefully they will arrive today/tomorrow and will be able to get them fitted right away whilst I'm off work. Also won a bargain bonnet bra on eBay.

Now to hunt for some wheels, and do a little more general tidying up! :-)

Got some coilovers through from PhilJ, wasted no time getting them fitted today, also got rid of the rear wiper, got rid of the bumper strips and put the bonnet bra on.

Making good progress considering she has only owned the car little over a week. Going to rattle can the steelies black untill some decent wheels come along.

Good to see you cracking on and getting it done! Paintwork has come up nice.

Do you have big plans for it or just get it looking tidy and leave it there?

Just going to see how it goes, it is a daily driver so nothing to crazy, yet. Mainly just source some nice wheels for it and get it looking tidy. There's a few bits here and there needed to tidy it up. Going to tidy the engine bay up a bit and possibly a sound system of some sort. Also got a private plate which needs transferring onto it and I have some short pressed plates to go on.

Little bit of an update with this,

We went and picked these wheels up earlier this week from Roboff on the forum. They are Fondmetal 4000's 15x7J. They were a bit tatty, in need of a referb and fresh rubber. When we got home we tried one on for size, ignore the flat!

We have started to referb them but no updated pics as of yet, the aim is to get them looking like these...

Also got some 165/50/15 Nankang NS2 to go on giving a little bit of stretch.

And the missus also won these on eBay the other night,

Hopefully within the next week wheels will be on, lights will be on and the car will be looking much better. 8-)

The difference that one wheel makes it amazing, kinda liked it in white to be fair :-(

Agreed they do look nice white but they need a full strip and repaint anyway and after having a browse on the net her heart was set on polished lips and black centres, see if your mind is changed once they are done and on haha ;)

Got the tyre's on the wheels and put them on for VW Festival, still need refurbishing so hoping to get that done as soon as. And gave the whole car a good clean before the road trip. Here's some not very good quality pictures of how its looking now.

Looking good mate, liking your plans for the wheels :) I'm not sure what centre caps they're supposed to have on though, the sets i found all had different ones.

Plans are to lower a little bit more, new wider wheels in the near future. Arch extenders have been ordered.
