hi guys,

got my first car, a polo 6n '97 in silver 1.0L

it came with mini lite wheels, de badged grill, leather seats.

so far I've put smoked side repeaters and I'm getting smoked indicators,and a stubby aerial

I'm getting 16v bumpers, with the upper side grilles smoothed

de bump stripped the sides

just wondering what else i can get on with doing for the time being that doesnt cost a bomb and wont affect my insurace too much after i pass!

any coments or criticism welcome!

Insurance wise not a lot as nearly everything has to be declared even stickers with most companies, stupid I know.

Typical plans for a 6n you more or less have, just add getting new wheels and getting it on some collies, dont bother wasting time on the engine with a 1.0 just get it sitting and looking nice when you can afford to do so.

Id recommend getting some clear front indicators and also 6n2 rear lights can be modified to fit and look really nice over the standard ones and give her a good clean bill of health with a full service and a thorough clean :-D .

As above; clear indicators and side repeaters would look smart and I recommend the 6n2 rears - just fitted some myself and really pleased with the result. especially for how little it costs.

Liking the wheels, btw. They look smart. Very tidy little car!

just washed and waxed her and shes looking fiiine (apart from the dirty dent!)

Nice I would do 6n2 rear light as put a set in mine 20mins and it looks so diff and lower it matey

passed my test on tuesday and I've already clocked up 300 miles! also needing a new front bumper and wingmirror some some strange reason which I'm not admiting to....

then I've gotthe coilies, it just needs some stretch on the rims to make it not rub and then some spacers to give pedro some poke!

oh! also got myself some all blacj rears... not sure if i like them though :/

May as well get a 16v bumper then :P From what I've seen recently they're no more expensive than the 8v ones!

How much increase are you looking at with the coilies declared? Mine only went up by £12 :p

Let us know how much it goes up by mate. looking good, not a fan of 16v bumpers myself though... originals look cleaner imo. Keep us posted.

bought some new wheels... some Weller 8 spokes in 13 inch! cost the grand total of £150

think they give a decent amount of poke?

yes, i do have a white front bumper on at the moment, while my other 8v is getting smoothed and sprayed, aswell as a 16v rear

need to find some time to fit them bloody coilovers. i cant wait!


my mini lites are for sale now... looking for £200 with mint tires.

okay.... so i managed to get them coilovers on finally!
did that on my birthday with my mate.

this is how it looked fully slammed, scraped everywhere so we raised it up a bit :)

then i was cruising like this!

then the day after i drove over a speedbump and dissassembled my Cat from the midbox:/

so!, we bodged it with a Uclamp and a can of strongbow from the night before! think this pic aslo shows a the 3 inches of clearance i have ;/

so whilst this effort was working i went to a guy who was braking his polo... i got new indicators, gear knob, and bits of interior trim... and last of all,some bbs wheels!!

went to try them on for looks only but when i reallised they actually tucked,i just left them on:)

soon after, it was time for the new smoothed bumpers!

on they went....

AND here is pedro sitting pretty outside....
next is a rim polishing and a good old wash and wax when the weather gets good!
