thinking of buying an in car camera/dash camera.

Been thinking about these, especially the amount of stupidity I see.

Ideal one would need to have speed and coordinates displayed.

I've got 1 bought it off amazon its okay quality even though it says it's hd. It cost me £30 including a 16gb sd card. Definitely worth it I think.

Kiz has one..... I think, his is a Chinese one, good quality apparently. Makes sense to have one if you commute or drive a lot as so much bad driving on the roads that needs to be reported.

Yep that's the problem part but TBH while you might be doing the odd shit thing it shouldn't matter as long as its not the shit thing that ended up with someone else requiring the recorded evidence of your shit to use against you.

I found one called 'smart cam 2' an turns out with some of these devices you can get up to 15% discount from insurance companies!!

Adrian flux being one of them and lucky I'm insured with them so may give it a try!

i have used a gopro hero 2 before but not a constant thing, long journeys ect, works a treat but expensive

looks neat - good reviews but yeah lil expensive lol

No experience with it, but I'd prefer to get one that's built into a rearview mirror (clips over your existing mirror) - less noticeable to the casual observer, they are hardwired into the car's power - turn on the ignition, it starts recording, turn off the car, it stops (with a lithium battery for backup), and have loop recording.

I find something like this type, which seems ideal for me, even Amazon has them now for under £80..

Only hassle would be running the wire underneath the car's headliner and around to wherever the powercord can plug into.

If you want quality then GoPro is the way forward. I've got a Hero 3 and the quality is amazing. But they are only really good for short journeys as they eat batteries.

Thing is do you actually need one? Just to catch people doing silly things on camera? If another drivers stupidity somehow gets you involved in an accident isn't that more likely to happen behind or at the side of you, where your camera won't be facing?

I have one,cost the grand sum of £11 delivered ha.its actually very good in terms to the quality of the recording and the view on its screen

Amazing what those Chinese can bash out.
