Roundabout has 2 lanes onto it from each junction (i was going from dual carriageway to dual carriageway in the "inside lane"), he entered from a my left (hidden by the big ass volvo), he kept saying there was a middle lane and to justify this he said the roundabout was big enough for 3 lanes.

postcode of roundabout: SA31 2BN, i was going from A40 to A40, he came from the A484 and i think intended to go to the B4300 straight across the roundabout.

Thing is the guy teaching is not the guy who's sign was on the roof but a complaint is already in progress as after the collision he stopped blocking an exit to the roundabout and i had to shout at him to move it to a safe location.

Insurance are querying who is the vehicle owner....

Living in Milton Keynes, and driving here for 22yrs, i have pretty good experience with roundabouts.

Looking at that one, i would've been in the right hand lane going past those two exits, only coming across to enter the A40 again. Reason being that the right hand lane is safer, allows people to edge out and even pull out like he did. This is normal here, if people don't do this then everyone has to wait for everyone and congestion goes through the roof. Better for as many people to be able to use the junction at the same time, keeping the left hand lane clear if they don't really need it. If i'm doing a right turn, having someone pull onto the roundabout is normal and acceptable - he only needs the left lane, i only need the right lane. With dual carriageways this is also the case.

This also applies mid way on dual carriageways themselves, where it's customary to pull into the right hand lane so someone can pull out of a junction on the left into the left lane. Nothing pisses people off more than trying to pull onto a dual carriageway (out of a petrol station for example), but can't because there are people driving along it in the left hand lane. It's selfish.

Roundabouts are really no different. Yes he was in the wrong, you were in the right. But had i been driving, it would've been fine for him to pull out.

I was in the right hand lane for the same reasons as you stated, but he wasnt taking the 1 or 2nd exit they were going from the A484 heading for the 3rd (B4300), straight across two lanes of traffic.

I didnt see them pull out as my view was obscured by the volvo XC70 next to me. I braked and turned into the roundabout to avoid and they still managed to hit me.

Why didn't the instructor use the dual controls?! If he'd have been awake this wouldn't have happened. Nice rust on the arch of that '08 clio too.

I suspect it's had a prang on that corner before, and the rust is the result of a poor quality repair. Not unlikely, given it's a tuition car, certainly not if being driven like that on a regular basis.

I noticed the rusty arches too probably been sprayed by the same person who sprayed my 6n2's bonnet

And all this is based on the fact that your name appears in connection with a collision, nothing to do with who was at fault (thats what NCB is for apparently)

Interesting about your insurance though, because strangely so has mine, even though the car I was pushed into somehow managed to claim against my insurance, and this cost me 2 years of my 5 NCB.

I only have a photo of the front damage on my mondy though...
