Need help for a friend and hope you guys can help

basically a friend of mine had a car go into the back of them at speed and this car then sped away from the scene

friend of mine was first taken to hospital as she suffers from blood clots and is on warfarin,but no internal injururies are present

but she does have whiplash,to the point where shes housebound bruised stiff on the sick from her new job which isn't ideal and is having to get with her kids ect

can she claim for injuries,is there a government scheme that covers for victims of crime which this is?

any help or direction would be great,she isn't playing on it,this is genuine

So the short answer is no.

If she was insured fully comp and claimed for the car at the time of the incident then might be worth having a word with them..

Wish a speedy recovery - unfortunately these things happen.

just assumed there was a government scheme to cover victims against non insured drivers,was sure I had heard it somewhere.

So the short answer is no.

Contrary to the above the answer is actually yes.

Its the MIB (motor insurance bureau). They won't cover as much as if you were hit by an insured driver (don't tjink you can claim for stuff like lose of earnings), but its there to offer some sort of financial compensation to victims of uninsured driver's and hit and runs

My dad was hit by a stolen vehicle & he too claimed through the mib.

Got cash for the damage & whiplash.

But he did have the reg of the car, went straight to the police station & they were the ones who told him it was stolen.

Or claim from own insurer if on comp cover, but if you claim off your insurer and you have no reg or CCTV or witnesses please bear in mind it goes down as a fault accident & you will have affected your premiums for the next 3 yrs
