1986 early round headlights breadvan polo - breaking for donor parts

Featured Replies

Hi

I recently acquired a red breadvan, 1 litre, on a C plate (so the earlier, thicker made one) - for some parts for a project mk2 polo van.

I already have used the doors, but the rest is available. The car will be scrapped quite soon.

If you want to get bits off yourself, the car is in Exmouth, Devon. I am heading up to the Midlands area on Friday 23rd August for the whole B/H weekend, so potential for me to bring bits up.

Thanks

Hi - Try me with an offer of a PM? I totally don't know what bits are worth.

Postage will be no more than a fiver for a courier I usually use.

Thanks

Can you get a photo of the clocks up please :) in desperate need of motometer ones

I have no idea what motormeter ones look like, but I shall grab a photo tomorrow evening for you. Bit late now + the shell is under a gazebo cover. :retard:

Sorry, engine was working but was told "there's a core plug blown on the engine" - I have no idea what this means, but also I have no idea how to remove the engine. I am not a mechanic :paranoid:

Sorry, door cards that were on it were both ratty coloured, and knackered....

The bonnet from this car is now available. Turns out the mk1 bonnet doesn't fit the facelifted polo due to the grille / headlights arrangements.... D'oh! And I polished it up nicely too!

Also, these are the clocks from it.

core plug is an easy repair, 2 mins if the engine is out.

Cool - If someone wishes to remove the engine themselves, they are more than welcome, and it will be cheap cheap cheap as a result too!

pm me you are locationg and how cheap?

My location is in my profile, Exmouth - Devon

£40 for the engine (& gearbox if you want it?) for DIY removal. I can help out where I can but don't have an engine crane, just a fair assortment of hand tools and a couple of trolley jacks.

The only thing missing off it will be the rocker cover

Well, if you can think of the total you would pay, including delivery, I can look into subcontracting labour to get the engine out, and also check out what pallet delivery will cost too. I imagine shipping an engine is not going to cheap as must weigh 70kg odd?

id pay 40 for bengine delivered so no point for how car u r dude

I think pallet delivery alone would be > £40, so no real point unfortunately.

Hi - cheap as chips, assuming they all come out OK. I know we had the ignition barrel off it for the other polo, but I think it didn't fit. I hope the wiring was removed intact.

"coil & amp" - can you explain this a bit more please?

Hi how much for the rocker cover?? I can drive and get it too :-)

This one has Simpsons front rubber floor mats. They are comical, I kid you not!

OK - the person who wanted most of the front end parts has had to write off his car. Therefore bumper, wings & bonnet now available again.

wings just need to go over them with my machine polishers. I think there might be a little corrosion under the aerial on the N/S one.

bonnet is white underside and what we believe to be tornado red on outside

Some extra photos of other bits.

I have a black bonnet here from a later breadvan - facelift / square lights one. Needs some work, so ideal repaint base.

Dodgy retrimmed rear door cards. Held on the back with duct tape. Donor for another retrim, or fit as is. I think a previous owner was trying to match tornado red....

and finally, rear seats. Need a clean, but could see no tears.
