Breaking a J reg and an L reg mk3 coupe. Both alpine white. Both done over 100k

Both could be saved with a fair bit of work but I neither have the time nor the inclination to put them back on the road. Have about 5 other projects on the go at the min!

J reg

Was a GT converted 1.3 SPI. Bought to break for parts. Has a rotten battery tray and the floor has gone under the driver's seat (welds broken) The sills have taken a bashing from the car being slammed. Even the fuel tank had a scuff on it.

This car's pretty much fully stripped bar body panels/glass so I don't have a lot to sell off it. Mostly odds and ends like cables, switches, interior trims etc. Panels all seem ok bar the tailgate which has rust in the usual places. No engine/drivetrain/suspension/wiring to speak of off this car, though I do have some suspension parts that I need to sort through and will be advertising at a later date.

Doesn't have GT arch kit or rear axle as it was a conversion. rubbing strips were also removed

Pics of front end. Wings are a little scabby, doors are not perfect but nothing terrible either. Bonnet is good, as is the one on the other car.

L reg

Another GT converted 1.3 SPI. This one is in better condition overall but the battery tray is in a pretty bad way (worse than the J reg and worse than any Spanish mk2 I've had) I did buy this one to do up and sell on but I've ended up needing the engine for one of my other cars. I'd be tempted to put this back to standard and sell on that way if I had more time but I'd need to buy another car to break to do that as it currently needs engine/gearbox/brakes/exhaust/interior. If you have a crash damaged 1.3 SPI mk3 that you want rid of. I may still save this car but the parts I've listed are for sale either way. Could also sell the rolling shell if anyone wants it for scrap value.

Parcel shelf supports - I have 2 or 3 sets of these with unbroken hinges £offers buy something and if you want some of these you can have them for free!

false floor install for an amp - £10 ono I honestly don't know what it's worth. Trimmed in dark grey.

Late spec tinted rear lights £30 (the ones that people say are G40 ones)

GT steering wheel £free (exchange). I will swap a GT steering wheel for your pov spec one. Has had the horn wiring repaired and it is a bit rough to the touch but better than a pov spec one!

3 sets of front / coupe rear bumpers. Free to collect, none are perfect. If someone doesn't take them they will be going to the scrap yard when the cars do.

Few sets of headlights/orange indicators.

Front grille, engine bay ancillaries, rear badges etc etc best off just asking me and I'll see what I've got.

Lots of plain side glass. At least a couple of sets. Some etched, some not. Some bonded quarters, some not. Offers!

How muchous for a passenger side wing? My hillclimb car is missing it's one...

I guess you'll want that posting? I will check first that it's worth me removing it. Don't think there's any rot but might not be rust-free. Will make sure it's part of the photos I will take this week :)

Would you cut the handbrake out and metal for a mk1 conversion? And also got a 5 speed gear linkage?

Those particular bits I don't mind posting. I've posted bumpers in the past! (which I do mind!) I will send you a pic so you can tell me how much you want me to cut out of the floor.

I know Karl's after a pair of doors and a bonnet, but they have to be up to his discerning eye He's on his holidays at the minute though.

I've mentioned to Karl a few times I have these cars! but I know he's been 'otherwise occupied' recently

G40 doorcards in a mk2, yeah they can be 'made' to fit. You have to use the mk3 door window rubbers, fixings etc and there are clearance issues with the mk2 dashboard, but rears go in the same. If I were you I'd look for some coupe S ones if you're after dark coloured items.

By the looks of it mine has snapped from the half circle piece. I'm assuming they're supposed to be joined.

Not uncommon for that to happen, I'll have a look. But I think I will have to sell you the whole seatbelt as I don't think it comes off.
