Sounds like your going to have your hands full steve, is the car a mk4 polo? silly question considering you have posted in mk4 forum but just want to double check.

Are you open to any colour aka metallic's and solids?

I will be keeping an eye on this thread and i'm looking forward to seeing what it will look like. Not saying you will or that you don't know your stuff put if you need help with anything or any advice i'm only a pm away buddy :)

Good luck

choosing a colour can be hard because of the mass chioce you have and also you don't want it the same as every other polo but here's a few that i consider to be nice and would work on a polo and can't say i have seen any of these colours done on a polo

Cheers for the colour ideas mike. Yeh it is a mk4. Just in the process if making a roll over spit to get the car on its side to get all old stonechip and underseal of down to bare metal then cut all rust out and replace with new metal project will be a slowish 1 due to the amount of work load I have. Ill post some pics now

Well the doors have been binned and the bonnet and boot taken of as will not be getting used. More pics later

Youve filled over the rust on the door? Including what look like holes in the left hand bottom corner? Hmmm... thats not how to do it.

Says the doors have been binned tho? Unsure!

Surly it would of been better to start with a better car? I scrapped a mk4 a few months back that was almost rot free, could sell it for £300!

Also if you own a garage why on earth would you do this at home? Sounds like I'm being harsh but just curious !

Ah didnt see the bit about the doors being binned! I hope they have but if thats the work you started to do then had second thoughts...you should of just got new ones or welded patches in to start with.

Not a promising start especially when you own a garage...

The doors have been binned bonnet wings boot bumpers as not needed. The bach archs will be getting cut out and new ones welded in. And am doing car at home as I have to many jobs cuming and out at work. There is a garage getting built to do it in built out of timber nothing special lol

As for the filler that was my 10 year old son wanting to have a go with filler which didn't bother me as they were getting scrappped

Always turns into a debate though, because everyone's a bodyshop expert now.

Ofcourse were interested, your saving a mk4 at the end of the day. Want to see how it turns out.

And to Adam I'm no expert but know what not to do...
