ok so after doing some viewing of gti's on google images i think that its apparent that this part is not standard?

so if i may change my question somewhat, it appears that there is a rubber bonding thing around the edges. Having never really messed with kits is there a place where you get this type of fixings rubber sealant from?

or if anyone knows where this part come from?
