Wing Mirror switch wiring

Featured Replies

So, I'm doing an interior conversion from 6n to 6n2

I've changed the doorcards, which also means fitting the 6n2 wing mirror switch

only problem is, the 6n2 switch is a 10 pin plug (9 wires) while the 6n version is 8 pin (8 wires)

I know which is my Ground and Live, but the other colours just don't seem to match up.

I did figure an ingenious plan whereby routing each 6n2 wire to the 6n LED wire would light the dash up when a circuit was created, thus allowing to figure out which wire did what, but my results are pretty meaningless.

so far I have

Red to Grey = Left and Right Up position

Blue = No Position

Blue/Grey = Fuck Knows What (LED?)

Purple/Grey(knotted)= Right Side Right Movement

Purple/Grey = Left Side Down and Right Movement

Purple(knotted) = Right Side Left Movement

Purple = Left Side Left Movement

Black =Live

Brown = Ground

So this is all well and good because I know what each wire on the switch does (or doesn't)

But I don't know which wire that relates to on the 6n wiring

Essentially now I have 8 (maybe 7) wires to go to 6 pins

I have had them working as in, the motors move when I move the switch, but it'll be some daft combination like, Left Side Down Movement makes both mirrors move inwards towards the car and up

or maybe the good old Right Side Right Movement makes the Left mirror go down

so yeah, any helpful suggestions would be much much appreciated

thanks
