ok here we go people this is my build thread I found my little polo in birmingham in a filthy forecourt looking abit sad so her she is half way back to leicester

I know you can't really see but they ruined the wings and arches they sprayed them the wrong colour and the masking lines were bloody awful but more about that later :-)

so after a while I got bored brought some steelies other than the ones on it and put them on to try and make it look abit better

..........

a couple of weeks go but and I get bored so go to the scrappy and find a mk4 engine cover and mounts and thought sod it only a fiver I'm having it also got a golf elbow and got a k&n off one of the lads on here

couldn't find the little circular bolt covers though but had a polo meet in leicester and one of the lads had some lying about so he sorted me out the little things always make a difference

........

so finally the time I've been waiting for got some 60-40 springs in the post and waited for my shocks and fitted them and the drop is unbelievable I couldn't believe it it looks like such a different car makes it look abit meaner and better found the handling improved quite abit aswell

so I finally got annoyed with the wings on my car....after a couple of people messing me about I went to the scrap yard one afternoon with my mate and to my surprise a mk3 polo coupe with mint wings still on it so I salvaged what I could..... I got the wings and got a new wing mirror unit a centre console and a couple of little bits and bobs

this is my wing before......

and this is after replacement......

but whilst I had the wing off I resprayed the front bumper and grill

and here's what she currently looks like :-)

so got abit more to share :-)

yesterday I went to sheffield and got a couple of bits....

first I went for the struts and mine were absolutely shagged

this is them and below is a pic of the old one with the new one

they were a bastard to get out but we got there....also got some gas struts for my bonnet cheap as chips and look pretty cool

I also picked up a gt cam which will be in very soon got some rev counter clocks too

but more very soon.....

here she is now :-)

latest.......

got my clocks in work brilliantly wound them back quickly aswell from 144k

put my passenger side wing on aswell the other one was clagged up and sprayed very bad

Looking good so far.

Quick question though, what golf engine did you get your elbow off? I think think the stock air filter looks shizz lol

I got it from a mk3 they make 4 different types I think but go to a scrappy they should have one or search parts for sale on here :-)

so finally got time to put in my gt cam me and my mate(Ian) managed to get it in around 45 minutes or so and changed my front pads aswell cause they were looking bear....

now she is shit off a shovel so much faster for a little 1043 :-)

also done abit of spraying and sanding and abit of time and effort and she's got a new rocker cover will try and get a better pic but here is some pics.......

and when it was on the car she looked the nicest

more very soon maybe a video of how she sounds without having to put a massive bean can on her just showing how to actually get proper performance out of a little 1.0l :-)

Funnily enough my wife describes my Polo the same way. She has no heart. It's my project.

hahaha my miss' absolutely hates my car anything that I do she just says can't you just buy a new one haha

ok a bit more to add will add pics soon but got a glove box lid plastic arch trims and some other little bits but the main this is I went to see my mate will as unfortunately he is breaking his gt so I had the 4-2-1 off of him looks sweet here's a pic
