My side lights work fine but the dip beams went out one side then another I have main beam but only if I hold the stalk can't click it for them to stay on done the normal changed bulbs and fuses but no joy any help would be gd coz I've just had to abandon the car and walk the last two miles home rob.

As the switch doesn't 'click' to stay in position, I would suggest that either the switch is faulty or there is a mechanical obstruction in the way, preventing the full movement.
