Hello all! - never thought i would start a thread in this section, most active in the mk2

First a little about me (feel free to skip) I have been stupidly into car since i was tiny, watching topgear on a sunday instead of going to bed for school! naughty naughty! but seriously cars are my life, pretty much all i think and talk about (apart from sex or drink now and again as a good 17 year old should). have always been around car builds and the like and always have been fascinated with the shape and styling of the old Vw's/ Audis and basically any VAG! especially the very low... Fueled by spending hours gorping at hundreds of pictures from all over the web i have plenty of ideas and plans i wanted to achieve for the first project!

About the car: Purchased early August probably will be used for an engine conversion!

Model: mk3 polo coupe

Engine: G40, Lysholm charged, frontmount intercooler, stand alone oil feed, corrado g60 injectors, ex cup car engine

Suspension: blitsen schocks and springs

Brakes: golf Gti break upgrade

Wheels and Tyres: Smoor roadsters off my mk2 loon

Exterior Styling: sunstrip yo, and the intercooler, flie eyes upfront for mean track look

Interior Styling: stripped, stripped and more stripped

ICE and Security: none.

I have been told by the owner that its a GT shell with a G40 cup car engine, the engine was fitted by PSD that they acquired from a written off cup car. Its got 33k and even still has the wire locking from inlet manifold through throttle body up and over the top back to the manifold and the inlet manifold through the rocker cover to the exhaust manifold. Guess this was to stop the modding. It has little copper/brass looking plates that were stamped with RAC or something.

The charger has been running for 7 months and has a custom mounting bracket thats has been made well. Charger runs on a PSD standalone oil system and runs spot on.

never thought my second car would be a G but a quick sale needed and a few notes later i brought her home!

just a bit of tidying up, took the stupid splitter off the front and clipped the bumper on properly, and painted some bits, chucked my smoors off my old loon on it, and sprayed the rear inside black.

After a quick wash and it came up mint! really suprised at the body work and paint! - seem to be lucky with this sorta thing!

I've got plenty of options and I'm really unsure what to do:

1. keep both cars and insure them separately, keep the G as a low milage weekend car to play with and tune more

2. Convert the saloon to g40 poweeerr! (seems good) them split and sell the remainders of the mk3

3. Convert the saloon to g40 poweeerr! then put my 1.3gt on b'carb engine in and sell

4. Convert the saloon to g40 poweeerr! then put my 1.3gt on b'carb engine in and keep as a daily driver, put the loon on limited miles and go ass shit crazy on it and make it full show car!

5. Use the G while i convert the loon to the 1.3gt engine I've been waiting to put in then either keep or sell the G afterwards :S

Also the Lysholm charger is waay to loud for daily use (in my opinion) and fancy a change, been offered a R1 Glader rebuild 5k ago, stage 4, all the bits needed to go with it and toothies, intercooler etc and money my way!

not 100% what to do with it yet! but G smiles as its fffoooookinn' quick!

not quite, I'm 18 and got lucky with a deal on a g40! couldnt really afford it but it was a silly price!

Looks sick man, I'd swap engines over make the G40 in a mk2 quick!

Yeah that's what I would do G40 the loon and 1.3 the coupe. Then use the coupe as a daily.

Trust me! if you have heard a lysholm charger you would know! you can hear it miles away, dont really wanna attract the wrong attention!

plus if it goes in the loon it wont be used for speed as its so low so may as well use the value of the lysholm about 1k to get a reliable charger setup and have a few quids ion my pocket?

not sure yet as i love using the loon daily and not 100% how to insure two cars meaning the loon would been daily so a reliable engine is key!

Saw this car outside my local Quick Fit a few months back, going by the MK1 on the drive you purchased the G from a chap called Miles?

Car looks awesome btw, bet it goes like stink. I nearly went off the road when I saw because I couldn't take my eyes off the intercooler, that things huuuuge!

still not sure what to do, really want a g40 loon however have no idea what to do with the mk3 and the engine i have, recon i will loose money big time! been offered a very good price as it stands, really not sure!
