Since when could the standard management on these be remapped to accommodate boost? probably explains the delay in power under hard acceleration. I'd also be concerned about why it being turbo'd puts stuff like the air bag light on. Seems like a bit of a bodge to me

yeah i think so too, £2200 for a tubo'd 6n2 :?

But I also think he was on the right path and gave up.

wanted to find out who done it and have a chat with them.

also looking into a custom gearbox to cope with the power.

Converting to a lupi gti box would be cheaper than getting a custom one

Boosting these is doable but if your gonna do it its best to do it right. Aftermarket management is a must. People have super charged the lupo's on standard pistons and rods using just a decomplate and had good results (that was a 1.4 16v mind), while others insist you need forged rods and pistons. Tbh the best place to look is club lupo as there seems to be more charged lupo's than 6n2's (are at least more info on it anyway).

Thanks for the advice dude, The guy got back to me about the custom race/rally box, said it would be no problem for the 6n2 Gti and then said it would be 14000 euro!

mmmm supercharger, you got me thinking now.

Tbh if there is proof that this gti has forged pistons it would be worth buying if you could get it cheap enough. Forged pistons are around £600 to buy iirc, and if it has a proper turbo setup on it (proper exhaust mani ect) thats even less that you would need to buy. Best thing to do would be to buy it and then pull it apart and buil it back up sorting out any corners that have been cut ect

I'd defo want proof of any claimed uprated parts tho. One lad was selling either a turbo gti or a turbo gti engine on here (can't remember which) not that long back and he had just turned 2mm off the pistons to drop the cr. Fine on some engines but not on these. Last thing you wanna do is buy something like this thinking it has uprated pistons only to find it has bodged standard ones in or something

there was also that other turbo engine for sale where he said it had forged rods and then when he put up pictures they were just standard ones which when we proved this to him he said he had been mugged off when he bought it before

found it on ebay, just browsing the pics and is it me or is that recirc valve plumbed in the wrong way round :/
