Hello all, I stumbled upon your forum whilst looking for information about a little project I'm thinking about. I currently drive a Honda S2000 and I love it, but I've bought a house and the fuel cost is starting to get to me along with the lack of rear seats. So I thought about Project Polo Sleeper! I've seen a couple on tinternet so I know it's reasonably possible, however I'm struggling to find real information towards it. I'm thinking about a 6n2 and dropping a 1.9pd in it from a golf. Then popping a new turbo and injectors on etc and pushing it up to a little over 200bhp.

I believe it will be the same kind of work involved as fitting the 1.8t engine due to being a big block motor but more than doable maybe take a look at a few 1.8t builds on here for inspiration

I've read one thread but I'm struggling to find any decent ones. I think I've decided on an SDI as the base car as it will have most of the fuelling gubbins like fuel lines, tank, clocks and the blocks are quite similar apparently. I'm struggling to find one that has gone pop as SDI's never breakdown ha ha still, no rush. There are plenty of 1.9 pd blocks around though, I've already got a turbo I think. A turbo is always the best place to start a build ha ha!

I'm fresh to the VAG scene, most of my time has been in Hondas, so any pointers and pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

In reply to your sleeper idea, i have a 9n gt tdi, which has a 1.9 pd130 engine. Not 100% but think there was only 600 made... may be easier than changing engines....

Hi Stephen, I briefly thought about a 9n but they are 200kg heavier than a 6n2. That would be like me driving a 6n2 with two of me sat in the back lol The reason I'm keen on the 6n is because of the lightness of it. A friend of mine has a MK4 golf GT TDI running around 215 bhp and it's a beast, keeps up with my S2000 and that's 300kg heavier than the 6n2!

LOL, I embarrassed a subaru yesterday, tailgating me badly, dropped a cog and i was long gone, Think they get a shock when they see a little polo pulling away so quick. Having 6 gears is nice too, I'm really happy with it!

I hope you get it sorted and hope you start a build thread!
