Polo mk2 coupe S Blue D220VPH

Featured Replies

just got myself back into the polo community with this little example.

Mk2 polo coupe s light blue. Solid base to work on however although she is standard apart from some horrid alloys I noticed in the rear window there is a clubpolo sticker and just wondered if anyone on here has previously owned her.

Shell and body are solid. Just needs driver door replacing and that is it rust wise.

Where are you based??

Yeah the colour is comet blue, one of the rarer ones.

Strange that its a d plate though. Quite a late one.

I'm in luton. Mikeymk, grungeisdead and liz also have one :)

Upload a pic to photobucket then copy&paste the img code onto here

Will do tomorrow. It's a ball ache loading photos on the iPhone ;)

It's definitely comet blue, why is it strange to see It on a D reg? Phased out colour?

Am based in Rugby.

Awesome.

No its not loads of people do it on here haha. Just download the photibucket app or flikr app :)

Because its a bit of a late one to see, I've only seen them in A-C reg, after that the mk2s changed slightly and were built in spain, and the colours changed

So what characters on vin would denote it being built in Spain or Germany?

It will say germany on the plate on the slam panel iirc.

Easy give aways are lack of side indicators on the wings or 8 bolt cam cover (mechanical lifter engine)

So lack of repeaters and 8 bolt cover mean made in spain or Germany?

Perhaps it is then! Strange i didnt think they made them in that colour! Its deffo comet blue. Looks tidy!

3 bolt is the later engine with hydraulic lifters.

Good find!

Lacquer on roof has crazed, few marks around her but she looks original. Alloys are horrid and she looks like she's on stilts. What suspension are you running???

Yeah there not the usual alloys or steels.

Mines on 80mm springs with ta technix front shocks and koni rears.

Is this made in West Germany then??

Tis indeed! :D good find that! Did it set you back much?

Still no sign of the previous owner. It was deffo a club member who owned her as that CP sticker was members only IIRC

Oh the gearbox is 5 speed + reverse, Is this standard kit?

Older ones are usually 4 speed. Seems you have a bit of a frankenstein model haha
