I've got a few more parts for the build, yes, but no building until my exams are done (20th June is the last one).

Purchased a used set of mk2 Golf rear stub axles, carriers, and mk4 Golf calipers to refurb

Handbrake cable adapters as I've settled on a cable handbrake, hydro not required

Mk1 Scirocco single wiper unit

Chrome front and rear bumpers

Vernier pulleys for the AFH cylinder head

Windage tray for the AVY bottom end.

I should have got a Windage tray for my bottom end... kinda regretting it now! I'll see how much oil gets kicked up into the breather :)

I will be knife edging my crank as well before it is balanced, every little helps I reckon.

Have you trial fitted the windage tray yet Jim to makesure its got clearance on the crank and conrods

I had to modify my one I made extensively to clear it all and yours will have a longer stroke meaning more clearance needed

Haven't test fitted it yet Pete but I would be surprised if I didn't need to modify it.

Yeah man, but not long to go now! My last exam is 20th June, and I want it in paint by the time I start my university course on 15th September. Should be achievable.

Just to note, that rear box mount is savage- keep a close eye on chassis, and I'd be tempted to beef up the rear gearbox mount (and if not already done stitch around the front box mount too).

I will be stitching the bay, and good idea, I will strengthen the rear mount as well! I'm not sure if it will be too rigid to use anyway, only one way to find out!

So I started to paint my rear badge.

In primer.

Silver lettering is done. I don't like spraying metallic. It's a pain in the ass to get it right.

Oh, and this turned up, already! I'm going to be eating beans on toast for the rest of the month, but it's worth it.
