I also took out the bulkhead divider as well, to make room for the throttle bodies at the back of the engine. Surprisingly, I was able to get it out with just a plumbers wrench (pliers) once I'd cut

I've got a few more parts for the build, yes, but no building until my exams are done (20th June is the last one).

And what they look like from the outside. (Ignore the colour and the stretch)

In other news, I've got a quote today for the tyres, £144 each before VAT. Ouch.

Good update! :)

I should have got a Windage tray for my bottom end... kinda regretting it now! I'll see how much oil gets kicked up into the breather :)

I will be knife edging my crank as well before it is balanced, every little helps I reckon.

I take that back..
some brilliant updates!

Where get your exhaust manifold from?

  • Author

I bought it from a guy on here - Polo_Gen I think his name is.

Hywel has one as do a few others, but I'm very lucky to have one too :)

Nice thread dude! You have given me a few ideas for my build (which I have yet to start)

This is going to be a beast when its finished!! great build thread and some excellent parts.

Have you trial fitted the windage tray yet Jim to makesure its got clearance on the crank and conrods

I had to modify my one I made extensively to clear it all and yours will have a longer stroke meaning more clearance needed

  • Author

Haven't test fitted it yet Pete but I would be surprised if I didn't need to modify it.

I've got plenty to do first!

Yeah just giving you a heads up incase you planned to just fit it while building engine up

Looking great so far just a pity about exams and revision taking up a lot of your time

  • Author

Yeah man, but not long to go now! My last exam is 20th June, and I want it in paint by the time I start my university course on 15th September. Should be achievable.

This is going to be awesome.

Just to note, that rear box mount is savage- keep a close eye on chassis, and I'd be tempted to beef up the rear gearbox mount (and if not already done stitch around the front box mount too).

  • Author

Thanks for your words Pete!

I will be stitching the bay, and good idea, I will strengthen the rear mount as well! I'm not sure if it will be too rigid to use anyway, only one way to find out!

Silver lettering is done. I don't like spraying metallic. It's a pain in the ass to get it right.
