EX- Golf+ Feature Car- 1.6 16v GTI MK4.5 *UPDATED PICS*

Featured Replies

The time has come to finally part ways with my beloved wife...i mean polo...

Owned this car for the best part of 8yrs and it's been extremely well looked after.

***PLEASE NOTE- THIS CAR IS STILL REGISTERED ON THE LOGBOOK AS A 1.4 16V AFH***- my insurer classed the engine upgrade as a 200cc increase and i insured it that way

The conversion has had no expense spared- all parts used on the vehicle are from a low mileage GTI and the car uses a FULL GTI interior, GTI wiring looms throughout, GTI ECU, clocks, steering column, subframe- EVERYTHING bar the 6N shell itself is a GTI! the mounting points within the bay itself have been seam welded for extra strength and the wiring is meticulously extended/shrink wrapped and recovered in new cloth tape.

New ball joints, bushes, bearings all round, brakes have tonnes of life left in them- the car is 110% mechanically sound!

Bodywork- a couple tiny scratchs that can be machined out and one or two dents (from being stored in the garage for 2yrs)

Serviced by myself every 6 months with a new filter and oil- i only use top qaulity Titan VW approved oil and a Bosch filter...

12Months MOT (Expires September 2014)

6 Months Tax (Tax will be paid for the buyer)

The engine has covered less than 3000miles since rebuild...it only went to a few shows in 2012, has been sorned since Early Edition Show 2012- sailed through the MOT without any issues!

The spec for the car is as follows:

Engine:
Rebuilt 1.6 16v GTI- new continental belt, metal impeller waterpump, new aux belt...head rebuilt with new stems and new gaskets all round.
Rebuilt GTI gearbox (painted black),
Hidden engine harness- extended and hidden through chassis, main engine harness extended and hidden. Custom chassis leg covers present (bay is ready to get smoothed if you want this)
VR6 Corrado radiator with twin slimline pacet fans.

Black painted bottles within the bay.

Chassis:
FK Highsport Coilovers,
G60 cross drilled brakes up front with goodridge stainless hoses and black diamond predator pads,
GTI black diamond discs and predator pads on rear (grooved) and with goodridge hoses- 2 extra hoses replaced using a VR6 kit,
GTI rear beam with ARB,
New wishbones, ball joints and bearings up front.
GTI front ARB.
Newly rebuilt and powdercoated engine mounts.

Bodywork and Lighting:
Smoothed and flared arches all round,
indicators deleted from the wings,
roof aerial deleted and smoothed,
recessed and internally lit rear boot lid- no vw badge or handle- vw beetle solenoid and button located in ashtray up front,
all swage lines smoothed,
bad boy smoothed bonnet (standard bonnet also included in sale),
bonrath modified grill up front,
MK5 polo roof gutters,
Jap spec retractable stubby mirrors,
smoothed sills,
Bumpers smoothed (no tow recess on rear, plate recess/bottom side grills and tow eye smoothed on front),
delocked and colour coded handles.
Custom FK angel eyes up front- black internals and LED's fitted all round,
LHD and RHD red MK5 Euro lighting on rear.
LED strips in front bumper.

**NEW Jap Spec plates will be fitted to the car due to the standard reg going back on**

Chrome plated door catches with gold plated bolts all round the vehicle.

Wheels:
G60 Banded Steel Wheels in 8.5x15 all round,
Centre Caps are present- wheels could do with a touch up, but these fill the arches nicely!

Interior:
GTI MK5 interior- seats, dash, cards- everything! including the electric sunroof is present,
Push button start located in place of cigerette lighter,
Battery located to rear,
Black carpet,
Momo Millenium Evo steering wheel/momo boss,
Momo Airmetal pedals,

Audio:
Alpine CDA-9856 MP3/Ipod Headunit
Sub Zero coaxials in doors,

Larger gauge wiring is still present in the doors- in case you fancy an upgrade to components.

The whole interior of the car is sound deadened! photos of this can be supplied on request.

Alarm:
Cat 1 Toad alarm with two fobs.

***I've probably forgotton to mention a whole host of stuff, the car is practically like new...new bolts/catches/clips- no expense spared!***

I'm after £3000 ono.
If this price is met, i will include 2x boxes full of GTI spares- spare engine parts, etc and will most likely still have some modified parts at the time of sale that can be negotiated in the sale...

PHOTOS BELOW SHOW THE CAR AS IT WAS- IMAGINE THE SAME CAR BUT WITH BANDED STEELS AND A STOCK EXHAUST/INTERIOR/NO SHINY CAGE, BRACES, WHEELS OR BMC ETC...

would you consider a swap for a 1999 audi S3 quattro?

Hi Mike,

tempting as it is...i kinda need cash for my house deposit i'm afraid and have a 20vt golf mk4 as a daily already...please let me know if you manage to sell the S3 and can buy my car :)

Vouch for this, the car is MINT. Dare not think how much you've spent on it!

Just so everyone knows...

the only changes made to the above car are:

1.) 8.5" G60 Banded steels all round (sit perfect within the arches)

2.) Standard GTI '1' interior- everything inside is stock GTI, bar the Momo steering wheel and pedal covers still in place.

3.) Stock Exhaust system and Airbox/Engine cover.

4.) Red MK5 all red rear lights instead of the LED ones and no HID's- just stock bulbs.

All bodywork, suspension, brake setup, engine etc are still the same...nothing has been removed here...

SPARE STANDARD BLACK BONNET INCLUDED IN SALE!

£3000 ono...it cost me over 2.5k to have the car resprayed and bodywork applied LET ALONE the engine setup/rebuild, wheels, suspension etc...so whoever gets this car will get a bargain!

Latest pics of the car- taken this evening- any panel gaps you may see are because either the bonnet or boot are on the latch and not closed.

**MODS- I'M SORRY I'M BUMPING THIS BY ADDING PICS, JUST BEING HONEST HERE...**

Ignore missing centre caps- i have the full set!

The car is still sat here waiting for a new owner :(

come on peeps...someone must want a new project? its worth it...check out this parts breakdown:

FK Highsports- £300

Bodywork/Full respray in Subaru Mica Black (its jet black with gold speckles)-£2800

GTI Engine conversion including dash, full interior, clocks etc- £1000 easy- this doesnt even factor in the engine rebuild or gearbox rebuild!

Lights- an easy £150

Wheels- Banded steels with tyres- £500

Brakes- GTI rear disc conversion/G60 front brakes with black diamond pads/discs/goodridge braided lines all round-£350

That already comes to around 5k! doesn't even include the tax i just put on it, the alpine head unit...

£3k ovno is a good price for a great car! :) spare parts will be thrown in too for the new buyer.

Anyone at all interested in this but short of cash? talk to me...else it'll go up on the bay/piston heads.

I'd rather it go to a club member so it continues to remain on the scene ideally but drop me a pm and i'm sure we can sort something out, i need the space more than the cash.

Now listed on Pistonheads with even newer photos:
