Newbie...well kind of

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

Having been away all things polo and vw shows etc for the pt 8 or so years I return having just bought another g40.

My name is Paul Borthwick and live in the northeast, county Durham to be exact.

So some of you may know/remember me I used to own a Mk3 saloon with a g40 engine in it, that was between 2000-2005, unfortunately that car was written off.

I have owned a few cars since including a mk5 golf gt TSi, a mk6 golf gt tdi, a mk6 polo 1.2 and now back to a mk5 golf TSi.

Last week I purchased a nice red g40, its in mint condition and standard, it used to be owned by a club member (123stevevw I think).

Anyway just thought I'd pop in say hello!

HIya Paul

Long time no see fella. Good to see you back. Are you going to keep the g40 standard or turn it into a monster?

Welcome.... Back

Hi Paulg40

Glad to hear you've seen the light and got yourself another Mk3.

Three clean original G40s have turned up on ebay over last coupe of weeks, (bit like busses) was yours one of those.

What we like to see is Pictures and plenty of em'.

Hi, cheers for the welcome.

Yeah actually it was one of the eBay g40's, the red one to be exact. Was tempted by the grey or white one but this one was perfect so couldn't pass it up.

Photos to follow!

I plan to keep it looking as standard as possible as they look great like this in my opinion but I'm likely to play with the engine a little but keep it on the charger.

I used to run 175bhp on my last g40 so something close to 160 will do me.

I have the golf tsi for my turbo fun which is also getting treatment.
