Well some of you know me. Most of you won't. Iv had loads of polo and then I got a long term project 6n(turned out to be rotten and found another shell).

I started building my 6n with a tuned hybrid afh with Megasquirt throttle bodies etc. Took it to get Mapped and I spun the trigger wheel. By that time of the day I got fed up and went home. (Don't think I have any pics)

By this time I got very fed up with 6n's as I'd had the. For so long and so many. And just pushing around was effort. So decided need something lighter and older. I was talking to a friend at work one day and said how I wanted a mk2 in grey etc etc. And he said I basically described his friends mk2 that's sitting in the unit with no engine. And that night my friend got a text out of the blue saying the lad fancies selling the mk2 for a caddy.

So it was fate.

I had a look at it and the shell was perfect for me. No rot. But the odd mark on it which I want to eventually sort out. The deal was done and it was mine.

First job was fit the engine. (Yellow hoses have been removed)

After rewriting it and buying an exhaust it was ready.

One early morning start and it was off to the rollers

Luckily when I took the 6n he did more mapping that he remembered. Gave it couple final tweeks and stuck it on the rollers. And did first power run. 165. Did another and we got it to 168 And 150 at the wheels. He tried couple more things but said we will call it a day at that to save my money and he didn't want to push it much more as the engine was pinking slightly.

But I was happy 168.

2 days later it was taxed insured and mot'd. And already a gearbox down. Luckily I had a spare but ratios are short so getting abit annoying.

No videos sorry. I think I have one when in the 6n when it was at its first Rolling road session. But hopefully get some of it at some point.

And sadly at the moment it will be keeping all its seats etc. I'm quite liking the full stealth look

I'm booked in at Bailey's on Monday to have my hybrid afh mapped.

Not ITB's or mappable ignition unfortunately so I will not be seeing that kind of power.

You got standard cams and cam timing?

You running wasted spark ignition?

Going to upgrade my ms board at some point to have 2 spark outputs and run wasted spark.

I'm abit confused? You say you are running ms but you don't have mappable ignition?

I'm running a ms2 v3. Wasted spark on a 6n2 gti coil pack to use standard ht leads. And 36-1 trigger

Cams I was told they aren't standard and they don't look it.

Yeah mate ms1 v3 board, fuel control only.

I can upgrade the ms1 board to have 2 spark outputs though which means I will eventually run a wasted spark set up.

Got any pictures of where and how you have mounted your trigger wheel.

Cams are possibly piper regrinds so will still look standard.

No they ain't piper. They don't even look standard to be honest. According to the receipt they are sorg. Or schrick. Can't remember.

I have a spare ms1 v2.2 that uses edis.

Who you buy the board off?

It's only going to cost me £35 to get 2 spark outputs put onto the board.

Temping though how much would you want for it?

I got mine off Phil at extra efi. But if you tell dale what You want to do. He can do it. Make sure all your ms is accessible and all your earths go to the engine and same place as he will tell you if its crap haha

When you say make sure the ms is accessible do you mean the acual box itself?

All my earths are to the same point (inlet manifold) crimped individually then all bolted down together.

Hopefully everything is good with the install, It all seems well. I get the correct temp, afr, rpm, pulse width and map readings.

Yea the box itself. Dale took mine apart and checked it was all ok inside.

Dales good. He can make the ms boards. But he says for the time and price it's easier for him to get it off Phil instead
