I'm trying to reset the service light on my 02 9n polo 1.9TDI. I've tried the method pinned on the forum for the 6n2 but it doesn't work for mine.

I've also tried;

1. Ignition turned off
2. Press and hold down distance reset button (bottom right of speedo display) and turn ignition on to first "click" whilst still holding down the distance reset button for about 15 seconds
3. The service display will clear out showing display of dashes (-----)
4. Release the distance reset button
5. Switch off ignition

And;

1) Switch off the ignition

2) Press and hold the reset knob for the trip meter

3) Turn the ignition on and turn the reset knob clockwise. The display will return to normal mode.

Neither of these work for me either. If someone can tell me the correct method, I would be much appreciated.

Press trip-ignition off

Hold trip

Switch ignition on

Twist trip to right

Wait
