1.0l 6n burning alot of oil

i have a 98 1.0l and its burning oil. I've taken off the air filter and all inside the air filter box theres oil come from the biggest breather pipe so i naturally removed the oil breather box and found it was full of oilly foam stuff so i cleaned it out and guess what it still smokes a gooden any ideas on how to fix this or what i need i can do all fixes my self just need a general idea on whats wrong

Compression test, but it sounds like oils getting past the rings to me. Stem steals / valve guides could also cause this.

What's the milage, are you having to top up oil what grade oil are you using.

If it were me I'd just drop another engine in, easier than pissing about with an engine that might be on its last legs IMO.

First port of call is to check the oil level, you haven't had it serviced or recently topped up a bit high have you? I know it sounds basic but always worth covering.

Otherwise as above, strip down jobs are good if you have the time/experience but for a little 1.0 you can probably pick one up for very cheap

hi thanks the last owners were using mgnatec oil.cant remember what grade and me and my dad were looking for another engine because we dont habe the time or place to do a strip down i did start but then got told.not too but thanks ill mention these to him

as for the experience I've stripped down about 3-4 engines. I just wasnt sure and its got around 70,000 miles on the clock.when we bought it we took it for a test drive but because the owner was in the car we didnt go over 40.But on the way back we took it to seventy to check everything was ok and then thats when the engine started smoking tonnes but it runs nice its just the oil
