Hi guys I have a vw here in brazil with a ea111 engine 1.6 8v with ... the lower part has the same bore and stroke fo the polos 6n2 gti 76,5 and 86.9 ... so i wanted to start a project and make a 16v conversion and i bought a 2001 polo 1.4 16v cylinder head 100bhp that fits exactly in my engine ...

So the question is ... What are the differences between the 1.4 16v cylinder that i have and the 1.6 16v gti 6n2 cylinder head ? Camshafts and everything else. Thank you from now and

6n2 gti has VVT and will also have different cams to suit, that's probably about it

But i can place the gti 6n2 camshafts in my 1.4 16v 100bph cylinder head ? I want a hot street race one ...

I'm not sure how the vvt works on the gti head but this would be where any issues would arise I'd imagine. The cams themselves may fit but probably wouldn't function right without the vvt setup also operating

Other things may also need to be taken into consideration, you will probably also need the gti pistons, if using them you may have to also use the gti conrods. Is the deck height of your engine the same as the 16v engines? Over here our 1.6 8v 8s a fair bit higher than that of the 1.4/1.6 8v lumps

No, the cams won't fit.

You already have the lively cams for that engine. The long stroke 1.6 doesn't want to rev so much due to the laws of centrifugal force, so the 1.4 100bhp cams are pretty lively for it.

Your cams have as much lift already, they have good duration, they work well - I have ran that engine in my MK2 on carbs and it was a really good engine. Quite tractable for the stroke and power, nicely progressive and not too peaky.

Never had it measured on the rollers so I don't know how much power it was putting out. It was enough lol

Isn't that the engine which can donate its turbo parts to make a turbo 1.4 16v AFH engine? Or you should even be able to use the turbo parts to boost your 1.6 AVY with some stronger rods and forged and pocketed 1.4 8v pistons..
