Hi guys. I am selling my mk2 golf 8v, gti, 5door, big bumper model in white. I love this car and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but unfortunately I am going to need something cheaper to run on fuel L.

The MOT expires April 2014 and the tax runs out at the end of this month. The chances are I will be putting 6 months tax on the car as it is my daily drive.

The milage is just coming upto 155,000. But as I said it is getting used daily.

The car is very clean for its age, a few spots of rust but only surface spots. Since I have owned the car I have put new plugs, dizzy cap and rotor arm on it. The oil was clean when I purchased it and I have done under 5000 miles in it since then. The air filter was recently changed too before I purchased it. The engine runs and ticks over lovely and pulls as a strong GTI should. It does have the usual 1^st to 2^need gear crunching when it is cold. I have changed the gear box oil which did help. But I have found that you can change gear when the car has warmed up with out it cruching. To be honest it hasn’t bothered me in the slightest, the previous owner told me about it and it never got any worse or better when he owned the car.

I have also needed a new set of pads for the back and a rear o/s wheel bearing.

The car comes with lots of surface history, some of which dates right back to the 1990s!

The only mods I have done was put a full stainless steel exhaust system on it (which has made a difference) and I have put the late spec rear lights on the back ( I still have the originals).

I didn’t wasn’t to touch the wheels or suspension as it drives very smooth with no knocks or bangs!

I am looking around £1500 or a possible p/x with a mk3 golf tdi/estate or something with a tdi ahu/1z engine fitted. I have judged that price on what other similar golfs are selling for on the market so I ‘think’ it’s a fair price?! It does come up lovely after a good polish and some back to black this car! Trust me! If the weather wasn’t so awful at the moment I would polish her up!
