Do thay help in anyway ? I assume thay will not expand as much as the og rubber brake lines ? may improve braking ?

i had one burst , they were snotty and unhelpfull when i contacted them about it

also note lots of stainless steel talk in the ads , but read carefully and most ends are plated that rust quickly if used in winter

Well that's not good did thay replace burst one ?

I paid over sixty quid for mine in 2004 but I was replacing all the pipework.

The following year I had lower suspension failure, my wheel ripped the wing back, driveshaft tore out, and tread torn off the tyre. The car spun 2-3 times across a dual carriageway. But instead of the wheel being halfway up the door it was still in the wheel arch - held there by the Goodridge brake hose.

I know I should have replaced it as a matter of course, but its still in service on the car - eight years and 50k miles later.

I would only replace them with a new set the same. They've proven themselves and I couldn't give up the responsive feel I get through the pedal.

I'm pretty sure you could hang a car from one. Sounds to me like Steveo got one with a manufacturing fault. But he's got a point with the fittings - mine are well rusty now. There are other manufacturers offering stainless fittings and that's tempting, but are they as tough as the Goodridge ones? Or are they just pretty ones made to sell..?

Mikey - I think I'd have sent it back to Goodridge with the story and some pictures. You'd have probably got a few freebies out of them.

Think if I go buy I will treat the fittings with some paint ?

Thay also load the dishwasher .

They'd have probably replaced it Steve, you'd think, not sure id have wanted to be on the front of Autosport about it though.. Especially as the ball joint only let go because it had the wrong type of bolt clamping it. As it happens I didn't need a new one.

Mazra, yeah in hindsight id have coated them in sealant or similar once fitted. I used grease on the threads to fit them so I'm not concerned about ever having to remove them. Now on the second bodyshell after eight years I think id be wise to renew them next time they're off anyway.

it might have just been the one guy that dealt with me ...but i wont buy anymore off a company with such a stinking attiitude when something goes wrong, also they used to have a lifetime warrenty ...they dont anymore so that says something about them

id stump up the extra for stainless ends ..have a look at hel on ebay or something

** also i think alot of people are sooo impressed as they're changing worn out rubber hoses and 10 year old fluid , wonder if new vs new would be much differant , rubber ones also allow you to see when they're getting tired , braided will just let go when /if the time comes

Found some hel brake line kits on ebay and thay have stainless steel fittings £69 all in ..I also so see where you coming from Steveo3002 with new brake fluid and new rubber og brake pipes it will probably be as good as new .
