Doors are getting there, what do people think the back plate should be, either gloss black or red so it'll match the boot build

Hope you all like

I think gloss black. Personally think it starts to look a bit tacky if there's too much colour, a bit max powerish. Liking the boot build hoping to do something similar next year.

  • Author

Ye thats what I was thinking, could look more 'classy' if its gloss black

Any wheels suggestions for the polo? Thinking BBS stagered at the minute?

If you have the budget for it, I say ssr Mk1's

I actually really like the wheels on it at the moment to be honest. But probably bbs or similar for the scene points.

Bit of an update

Had to replace the water pump as the original had a major leak. Original was completely shot and had 4-5mm movement up and down. Took the chance to change all the timing belts at the same time :)

post-145774-0-53095500-1392829851_thumb.

A week later the engine decided to fall through the car, a minor inconvienience but after some investigation the mount (gearbox side) had excesive wear, allow the bolt to vibrate loose. Anyway, a new mount was fitted and shes back on the road.

Most exciting for me, I picked up my wheels all freshly refurbed, couldnt resist trying one on. Sit about perfect will a little bit of 'poke', just need to get some stretched rubber on them and put them on for the show season.

Next on the list is to tidy the bodywork up a little, just to last until the main works later on this year.

"A week later the engine decided to fall through the car". Couldn't help but laugh at the way you worded that after the work you had put in haha. It's looks like it's all coming together nicely though. Will be good to see it on the new wheels too

  • Author

Ye, shes starting to come together, ordered the rubber so will hopefully see how she sits next week. Glad you like it tho, much appriciated.

No back seats though :(

loving where this is going.. ill be keeping an eye on this

  • Author

The back seats are still in a usable shortier1919, theres small fake floors over the amps, dont like stripping rear seats out, specially leather ones :)

And thanks patton, I'll keep you updated

I also decided that it was about time my original worn out steering wheel was replaced so decided to go stupidly small and Momo ;)

Most exciting update for me is the new wheels are finaly on, just in time for show season! Centre caps are currently at the powder coaters so wil hopefully get them back this week. Few snaps from Ultimate Dubs at the weekend, perfect weather and a amazing show, saw the Polo's represented well

Small update!

The heaven on wheels show was amazing! Was good to see the difference in modifying culture from country to country. Only saw 1 other 6N2 there so got a lot of attetion, couple of pictures from the main show:

post-145774-0-71749200-1397028820_thumb.

Unfortunatly the centre caps did not get finish (and still haven't been, only had them for 8 weeks now) so will hopefully get them back soon. As you can see from the above pic I have also had all the front grills painted, look much better the old faded black plastic.

Following the Heaven on Wheels show the sound system was feeling a bit sorry for itself so first job was a full upgrade and refresh.

post-145774-0-95052100-1397029884_thumb.

So old speakers out, re-preped ready for a re-paint. Getting it done professionally this time so should look much better.

post-145774-0-63445800-1397029454_thumb.

Both trims were looking worse for wear so they got removed and retrimed

Speaker on the left is the old, speaker on the right is the new :D

post-145774-0-58016500-1397029243_thumb.

Then 2 new subs and a bigger amp, running around 6000W peak and 2400W RMS

Finally, after a few months of saving I finally got my new suspension kit which I picked up last night.

post-145774-0-10895100-1397029221_thumb.

Full Autopilot V2 with airlift struts. Should be getting fitted towards the end of this month.

Will keep you all updated, hope you like the progress so far.

Shane
