What plans you got?

30,000 miles!?! Holy shit

Looks like a gl or glx spec I had one of these on a p plate stunning motor. Vw produces some cracking 75bhp engines.

Keep it stock as possible as they are rare in this condition.

Future plans are to keep the rust away! It's mint, only a bit on the rear arch. I've had the underfloor waxoiled at a garage and clayed and waxed the body. As Elija said, will be keeping it stock. I wanted it lowering as these cars sit too high. The spec is GL so electric windows, mirrors, sun roof and 16v wheels. The previous owner did 3000 miles a year!! No firebreather, but very tourquey off the line. Cheers, Chris

Good work having underside waxoiled something that is often overlooked. Has the timing belt been changed? Bought a p reg 1.4 8v last year with 49k on the clock with full specialist history only to find that timing belt had never been changed due to miles.

I think every car should be waxoiled if you plan on keeping it a while. My mate did it for me at his garage for £30, bargain! I got the cambelt, major service and full lubrication for £500 at a VW specialist + the cost of the car was £1000 so in total it works out £1500 for a low mileage VW retro runabout! Some may say overpriced, but you're still in banger territory for a younger car at that price. Thanks for the feedback

Hi guys, it's been a while - thought I would share an update to this car.

It's now on 46k and running well! The plan was to keep it long term and 2 years is good for me. Here's to another 2 years!

First job was to replace the alloys as they didn't look right. Question is... can you guess what they are?

As i'm sure you're aware, the standard interior on the vast majority of 6n's is shocking!

So I upgraded the seats with low mileage 6n2 GTI seats and 16v door cards.

Finally, I always thought the 6n should have a spoiler. So I found a Zender spoiler for a decent price and got a mate to spray it for free!

Trying to bond a spoiler on when you street park is not fun.

That's pretty much it guys. Future plans are sorting the paint out with a good detailing session and the annual rear arch re-paint. Luckily it's not rusted through the metal, so I can sand down and spray. Also to add the title of this thread say's it is Dragon Green - it's actually Bright Green Pearl.

Cheers for looking :)

Chris
