so i decided a few months back to buy another polo I'm only 18 so not got lots of money to throw at it so budget build here is a few pictures

engine bay cleaned quickly

loads of new parts fitted many more to come loveing her atm also does anyone have any ideas at why she might not be starting it has spark the starter motor works the engine will fire up after a few pumps of the throttle then runs for 2 seconds then backfires and dies any ideas?

Sounds like the spi unit I had the same problem on mine
