CV Possibly gone?

Featured Replies

Have a 98 6N that has been trouble from the start.

First day I got it a wheel snapped off, Now replaced and working fine. I have what sounds like

Rubber rubbing when doing under 10MPH (Looked around car and nothing is rubbing that I can see)

Full lock right, Sounds like metal rubbing, The same again, I walked around the car, I have sufficient arch space.

Could it be my CV Going?

Normally, when a CV is on its way out, the first thing that you notice is a clicking or knocking when on full lock.

Are you quite sure that these rubbing sounds are not from the brakes? Could be worn pads, or just a partially seized carrier.

Regards.

Checked the brakes on both sides as we replaced the pads and disks at the same time.... Full lock is like a knocking, I'll get a video or something tomorrow :)
