I am in Australia, I own a 2006 VW Polo Club. It has a switch on the dash board to adjust the dipped headlights vertically, up and down. The passenger side still has the original factory fitted bulb, and the adjuster works just fine up and down. The bulb blew on the driver’s side, I replaced it, the bulb, since then the adjuster no longer works, it is stuck in the upmost position. When I roll the switch on the dash board only the passenger side headlight moves up and down. It seems they are both on the same fuse, the bulb is fine, what has happened, I am lost? The car is seven years old, but only done 22k miles. Any help much appreciated...Thanks

My polo 9n is the same except the passenger side doesn't adjust.. I think it's because the previous owner rived the bulb out and ruined the support/cage around it.

Haven't had time to have a proper look at it yet though

Both sides run off the same fuse, and the passenger side is working fine.....

The only thing i can think of, is what made the bulb blow? Was it anything to do with the motor running the passenger side? Also, the height of the lamp, as of when the bulb blew, was at top, it is still at top. It will not dip to bottom when i run thre wheel switch on the dash inside the cabin...So is the drivers side motor driving the lamp stuck at top but believes its bottom. So in essence there is no more lower track to go to and it cannot go up as it is at top?

I wonder whether the lamp itself needs resetting, but mine is stuck at top, and will not move lower when i flick the switch. When the passenger side lamp moves to top it matches the drivers side. I wonder whether if i adjusted the lamp to bottom, then it would free up movement back to top. As at the moment, i am guessing, but when the bulb blew, the lamp was at top, and still there. But it thinks it is at bottom. So when i try to switch it to bottom it will not go, and there is no track for it to move to top as it is already at top?

Have you checked if your getting any Voltage to the unit? Could just be a bad earth on that side
