Bought a polo recently with a ALD 1.0 mpi engine. Replaced the timing belt kit with a skf product and also replaced the water pump. Timing belt is tensioned correctly on the dynamic tensioner but whines as if it is to tight. I have tried slackening the belt a little but made no difference. I have read that these 1.0's whine quite abit, I would like some info and feedback on my problem please. Thanks guys

Bit more detail on this problem. I can turn the belt 90 degrees before the spring tensioner moves which sounds right to me. But the engine continues to whine. Quiet on idle, soon as you rev it, it starts to whine but inbetween 1000-1500rpm it makes a whirring noise same as if the belt was over tensioned. Can some please tell me how these 1.0 liters sound or had a similar problem. Thanks
