Cheap mk3 engine, doesnt have to run

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’m looking for an engine to act as a dummy for a g40 mk1 polo build. It doesn’t have to run as its just sitting there whilst I make everything fit around it. The proper engine is being rebuilt at the moment so I cant really use it.

Ideal engine would be a mk3 1.0 as I’m thinking of playing with a 1.0 head to create a BVH but anything will do really.

I don’t need any ancillaries, just the block, head and sump.

I’m in Northamptonshire so if you could be local that would help as I don’t really want to travel to far.

Thanks

Bit to new and pricey for me I'm afraid, I'm looking for a block from a mk3.

NG16 2YH, just off M1 j26.

1.05 spi

£40

But I'm Woking surrey..

Cheaper but further

I'll be taking a dead 1.6 AEE out next week. There's a few differences to the earlier engines, but it's still basically a short block VW. Came and get it if you want it.

Thanks for the offers but I would prefer mk3 engine please.

well mine's from a L-reg breadvan i just killed,

i'm guessing the 1.05 spi is same age too.

I've got a 1.3 spi, had all service including cambelt and pump. 119k been sat lil while. Offers around 40-60

I've got a 1.05 aau, head, block and sump. Had 40k on it before head gasket went. Based in Norfolk, £10.

Got a mk3 empty engine block and gearbox casting in york if thats any good to you, can come with mounts too, both going to scrap
