Got me a part 2a (a 321611307B reservoir with fluid level sensor) attached to the ATE master cylinder (dotted lines). Want to replace the part 2.

How do I pull the two apart?

The outlets of the reservoir are in rubber bungs but it doesn't want to come out.

Being careful as it is 23 year old plastic.

I'd just use the cylinder and reservoir as is but it does not have the brake pressure sensor switch hole.

Think it is same diameter as mine?

are you asking how the res comes off? just pulls upwards

Yeah, literally, just pull/wiggle and pull, it's only the O-rings that hold it in.

Tried my hands, a big screwdriver, a barbecue fork and finally a vice and a 20 inch tyre lever - pop.

Though I suspect the breakthrough was taking the cap off - think I was just creating suction against the rod in the cylinder.

Really hope it fits my ATE 03.2120-1531.3 master cylinder.

Front chamber's a little dirty inside and not very accessible - dishwasher?

recently cleaned mine with aerosol brake cleaner

of course - that and a pipe cleaner and it looks like new!

Yeah. See why I asked. It wasn't easy and there's a small nut on the cylinder I was tempted to attack.

Anyway good news - hole spacing 85mm centre to centre. It will fit. If I can get the old one out :-)

Now - draining the fitted reservoir fluid.

Pump out through caliper bleed nipple?

Drain out through brake pressure sensor switch hole?

Siphon tube?

Have a tub or something close to hand to put it in. Wear gloves and move fast. Wipe up any spills as quick as you can.

best have a watering can to rinse down any spills

• removed the inner filter insert with needle nose pliers
• siphoned fluid out with hand primed pump siphon tube
• popped reservoir out with tyre lever into an old washing up tub
• changed it over - refilled with new fluid
• watered down engine compartment and driveway
