Is taking the roof lining off relatively simple? Also did you use the same stick over technique for that as you did with your door cards?

Yeah it's really simple.

You'll need to remove the bolts that hold the seat belts (13mm If I remember rightly) so you can take the pillars off and also unscrew the grab handles and sun visors (these are just Phillips screws).

Everything else is just clipped in place and can be pulled off to take the headliner out.

In terms of the material, I just sprayed the headliner with trim fix and stuck it over.

Also for roof/door did you cut it to the edges or did you like fold it over and tuck it in?

Yeah man, pretty much the same stuff!

Wherever I could I folded the material around the back (around 2 inches) and glued it down on both the roof and door cards and pillars, it all clips back in fine so don't worry about it being to thick when you come to put it back in.

Obviously in some places you have to cut/glue a straight line like on the door cards so you cant fold/glue round the back.

Good work man, just a quick question about internet connectivity on those, can you stick a 3G sim in them or do you have to park up at maccy's to get their wifi?

The one i have doesn't have a SIM slot, but supports a 3G Dongle, and also has Wifi for those romantic McDonalds car park meals.

Almost done with the centre console, does anybody have any suggestions on what to finish it in?

Was thinking of wrapping it with some vinyl,what's peoples opinions on the black 4d carbon stuff?

as long as you dont over do it, it should look good.

IMO Key pieces look good colour coded, as long as it doesnt become overwhelming, its your discretion and your car, but I think it would look good

but like I said, your choice :)

Personally not big on carbon wrapping but like above said it's your car! I think the blue could work... It's quite a vibrant colour so will either look really nice or will look too much next to the rest of the dash! Worth giving it a go though!

Another quick update.

Since owning a 6n I've always fancied a set of Depo headlights but finding a set has been a pain in the arse.

Anyway, finally acquired a set from a clubpolo member (Cheers alex!) and got them fitted yesterday.

First the strip down and removal of the old lights had her looking all sorry for herself

It'd got dark, and wet by the time we were done but managed to get them in, also gave the fogs a yellow tint as they were a little dark before, you could hardly tell they were there.

And this is how the front end looks now, the light output is amazing compared to the stock lights!

Few days off work now means i should hopefully get the dash finished!

I used a piece of circular plastic to actually fill the hole on the wiper delete and smoothed over with filler (the piece of plastic was actually the ring that came on my paint cans that sits under the nozzle so you don't accidentally press it) Anything would do though I suppose as long as it fits the hole snugly.

The rear and front plates are on using double sided tape, the stuff that came with the plates.

The rear isn't completely flat as there are two raised sections under it where you'd normally screw the plastic plate on.

I stuck some tape to the back of the plate and then heated it all up slightly while applying it with a hair dryer to allow it to take the shape of the boot a little easier.

LoL yeah! it's a bit daft.

You may be able to get at the bottom bolt without removing the bumper to be honest, but i was tinting the fogs too and had to drop the bumper to get these out, luckily I've had it off and on a few times now so there are no seized bolts or anything any more.

I bought them from a member on here for just £60 posted, nice and cheap.

It's actually finding a pair that's the hard part to be honest, been looking for a while myself, never seen a set on ebay and when they've cropped up on here they're usually snapped up pretty sharpish.

Well pleased with them though :)

Some good progress mate and looking good wouldn't mind having a look at this some time I hope I will be at some shows this year.
