Now has 12 months MOT!

This is my brothers car. We did it up in 2011 for him to use as his first car but he needed a bigger car capable of towing a trailer for work. He now has a mk5 TDI estate now so this has to go!

It's done 166k. Engine is an AAU with all the SPI stuff transferred from a mk3. Engine has about 90k on it. Replaced the headgasket due to oil leak at 50k when we put it in the car. Still all good bar oil leak from rocker gasket.

Clutch is heavy I suspect its on its last legs Now Replaced!

Gearbox is the original 5-speed from the car, code AHZ. We took it out at 125k to put a taller box in. No issues with it.

The car had quite a lot of welding to the rear of the sill in 2012. £250 worth I think. They made it solid again and it flew threw the last MOT in January (usual advisories on brake pedal, suspension movement and rear wheel bearing play)

My brother's de-arch kitted it and had a new front end put on (wings and bonnet painted up) as old ones were pretty rotten. The rest of the car is not the best, but not the worst! He's done a few DIY repairs and paint jobs to the doors and various other places.

What we did when we rebuilt it

SPI conversion

Replaced all brake lines and master cylinder

New wheel bearings all round.

New brake shoes, new discs and pads, converted to vented. (g40 type)

New fuel tank

New exhaust

New TCAs. Had to do these again for the MOT

New top mounts (on it's third set since!)

Water pump, cambelt and thermostat changed at time of headgasket in 2011, so done about 40k since. (about 2.5 years old)

Lowered 40mm on ventura? Springs (I've no idea what they are tbh, drove good though when we first lowered it)

G40 front brakes as previously mentioned

Black GT interior with split/fold rear seat!

Coupe S hockenheims with good tyres (165/70/13)

Full set of tinted glass

Not yet. Still got to put the gearbox on. Then we need to get it MOTd as that's due to expire soon.

Clocks are a mish mash of motometer and vdo I think.

Been a miserable few weekends but I'm hoping to get somewhere with this after the rolling road day.

New clutch and AHZ gearbox now fitted. Needs MOTing now though. Should be ready to go in 2-3weeks time

swap for keskin kt1 16x9 16x7.5 new tyres

Is it complete, mot'd & forsale or sold?

I'd be intereated in having a look at this if it's all back together?

Car is ready to be MOTd just need to get it booked in. So sometime next week it'll be ready to drive away.

Have tidied up the thread to reflect the fact that, pending the MOT, we will not be breaking it.

Come have a look but I keep having to push back the MOT as the MOT on the passat is due and that had to take priority.
