Featured Replies

so finally decided i best start a build thread considering I've had the old girl since last year and I've had a few requests for picture so here we go!

I bought the old girl from Rumsam on here, who a few of you on here may know, chris bought her when the old girl was standard and did a few modifications

which made me first consider buying her.

so this is how the old girl looked when i first bought her....

SDC12010_zpsab81f5d1.jpg

spec when i bought her was;

fully re built gt motor with new parts bar rods pistons and crank all origional
de wedged throttle body
chipped ecu
stainless 4 branch with lambder sensor welded in
newman fast road camshaft
pipercross air filter
8mm ht ignition leads
phil j poly engine mounts
Full 2" Stainless with 2.5" tail pipe

vw 2 calipers
ebc green stuff pads
g40 discs
hel braided brake lines
fk springs and shocks lowerd????? aprox 70mm all round i think???
all front powerflex bushes
mk3 5 speed anti roll bar
15" g60 wheels
165/50/15 tires

interior was standard except from omp steering wheel and boss

The only problem was it has a starting problem when the car was warm, this was believed to be the blue temp sensor so that was ordered

So got the old girl home and first port of call was to get the old girl running properly so got the new blue temp sensor and got it fitted but it seems to have not sorted the problem, i also had some spare gt parts so i changed the alternator for a genuine gt one as it was running on a mk4 one, i also decided to change the dash for a mk2f one i know some of you may hate it

so i went from this.....

and change it to this....

this also gave me the chance to change my clocks for a set with a rev counter so went for a set of G40 ones. I've decided that the dash is going to change at some point and hopefully that will be before next years show season and hopefully a new interior too

Decided the G60s were due a refurb so I've been running a standard set of polo steels unfortunatly not the best but

they did the job for a time

I'm not the biggest fan of my car at that point but it was for a purpose. before i bought this mk2 saloon i had a

silver CL spec mk2 saloon which got broke due to rust as it was a spanish built one unlike my current on which is

german. i kept a few parts from my silver saloon, one part being the twin light grille.

this day I decided it could do with a good clean so spent a few hours cleaning the old girl including the engine bay

couple of hours outside spent giving it a full wash, including t-cut and wax

Having got ust to driving with the gt engine now possible thinking of a change but watch this space for something new and ill try to keep it up to date all your feedback is welcome and opinions
