1990 Platinium Silver Polo Saloon 1272cc 5-speed

Featured Replies

Currently sat on the train travelling to Edinburgh and I can't help but with I had a MK3 Coupe again.

Make: Volkswagen

Model: Polo CL Saloon

Year/Reg: 1990, G-reg

Engine: 1272cc 5-speed

Mileage: Currently a touch over 53,000.

MOT: 05/06/2014

Passed with 3 minors. Rear wheel bearing (since replaced), top mount (since replaced), and a minor exhaust leak around back box, un-noticeable as it's whisper quiet.

Tax: 31/12/2013

Less than 3000 miles ago the head was take off and professionally cleaned and skimmed. The engine was then put back together with a Full new gaskets set i.e. head gasket, rocker cover gasket etc. When the engine was put back together the cam and fan belts were renewed as well as the water pump. At the same time the Pierberg carb was replaced with a weber 32/34dmtr carb, and a pipercross ring filter replaced the oem filter. The car has also been serviced with oem or high quality parts again around 3000 miles or a year ago. Only a couple of months ago the fuel hoses around the car were all replaced with new cotton overbraid hoses.

I have replaced the suspension with an AP shock and spring kit, this was done 3500 miles ago. At the same time the bottom arms were replaced with brand new oem parts. New front wheel bearings fitted earlier this week also so it literally is perfect.

The interior is in great original condition with a very uncommon cassette holder in the center console.

I polished the wheels myself and they were professionally painted and only installed around a month ago, therefore they are in great condition; not a cheap job! The wheel weights are even colour coded.

I have done all I can to keep this car in tip top condition and am very reluctant to sell, it really does drive spot on - mechanically and cosmetically it's the best Polo I've owned yet, just got that hankering for a MK3 coupe again. Really doesn't need anything; I previously had BBS RM's fitted although these won't be included on the sale.

Location: Doncaster but can travel.

Price: I'm wanting a MK3 in part exchange (1.3 Genesis/GT/G40) ideally but for forum rules. £1250
