Mk1 1980 project for sale

Featured Replies

unfortunately due to work issues i am going to have to give someone the chance to finish my little polo project. it is a 1980 in a met green colour

engine-

1.1l on log book but it has a 1.3gt engine which i was told when i bought the car has a 2k chip and a shriek cam, cant say for definite though as i didnt fit them and I've not had the engine apart. its pretty nippy and is a good laugh to drive.

body-

car is currently partly stripped (interior out, wings, bumpers, side windows, lights, etc all removed) I've still got all the parts in boxes.

I've welded the small chrome trim holes, i have also welded the drivers side rear qtr, sill, inner arch, boot floor and rear box section and the drivers floor, and a couple of other small patches.

I've not started on the passenger side yet but i know that the rear qtr needs welding (got a pattern arch to go with it)

the rear qtr window lower inside edge has rust but i have a panel from another car to weld in.

the rear lower slam panel needs welding in (new one supplied) oncde the rear qtr has been sorted.

i think thats it for the welding but there may be a couple more small bits.

drivers side panel work is almost complete, i have cut away the rear arch to give more room for wider wheels, but the passenger side has not been touched yet.

berg cup fibreglass arch and front splitter kit supplied but needs fitting, thats why the rear arches have been cut for the wider wheels.

front wings need a small amount of panel work

Wheels, suspension.

ats cup alloys or ats cup lookalikes, tyres are good apart from nsf which has a slow puncture due to a nail (prob be fixed cheaply)

rear suspension is adjustable and lowered, not coil overs. front has lowered springs.

interior-

i believe they are mk3 gt seats, def not standard but they could do with a clean (not fitted at the moment).

spares and extras-

spare bonnet, red

spare drivers, passengers doors with windows and rubbers etc fitted, red

spare boot, with window and bits still fitted, red

berg cup fibreglass arches and splitter

rear lower slam panel

passenger rear qtr panel

passenger sill

rear qtr window inner panel from another car to weld in

spare dash board

loads of other bits and bobs- rubber seals, wiper mechanism, other stuff in boxes.

i think thats pretty much it, cars in my garage under some bits so i shall try to get pics tomorrow,

would love to have the time to finish it but I'm having to move with work so i have few spare hours and a wife that needs attention. I'm only about at weekends but if you want to view it or have any questions give me a call on 07917844456, will have to be trailored away, most of the extra panels are inside but may need a big car to get some of the extras in. i shall be putting it on ebay next week but i thought id let you lot have first dibs on it. £750, cheers, pics tomorrow car is in Chelmsford Essex, no tax or mot, does run with a jump start.
