I am offering my e30 318i Touring up for swap/part exchange for something smaller, preferably a mk2 Golf or something like that.



I have owned this car for around 5 months now and since owning it, it has been great and never let me down. I originally bought the car for a trip around Europe, however the trip is no longer happening so this car is no longer required.





1991 E30 318i Touring

155k, no history unfortunately but the overall condition suggests this is true, apparently it was on 122k in 2001 (a sticker in the engine bay suggesting its last belt change) so its had a fairly easy life for the last 10 years at least.



MOT and Tax Until Feb 2014.



During my ownership I have taken precautionary measures and replaced some vital parts, those were:

Leads and plugs

Oil change + filter

Fuel pump



Good points –



Nice shade of blue (Lazerblau Metallic) and shines up great after a polish and a wax.



Completely original and standard apart from being lowered 60mm on what looks like standard springs, drives smooth and comfortable as any BMW should, not crashy and bouncy like some lowered cars.



Original 14 x 6 1/2j BBS wheels in good condition with good tyres all round



Everything inside works, all electrics etc work without fault



Electric sunroof, front windows, mirrors and alarm/immobiliser with remote keyfob.

Super reliable, feels solid and how a BMW should expect to feel, not a tatty drifter like most unfortunately end up like these days.



E30 M3 steering wheel in excellent condition (worth £100+ I am told)





Bad Points –



Drivers seat base is ripped (always happens on these), sponge underneath is still intact and fine.



Some rust here and there but nothing structural worthy of failing the next MOT;

a little hole near bottom of A pillar (common place to happen) passenger side wing has a rust hole at the bottom (currently repaired with some black duck tape, looks unnoticeable from 2 metres away!), bootlid has some slight rust spots occurring, otherwise tiny little bits not worth mentioning. Overall, its pretty solid for a 22 year old car.



Engine a little tappety, I checked the cam for wear and it is still in perfect condition, I replaced the oil spray bar and the tappet has been a lot less noticeable since, another oil change should further help.



Overall the good points outweigh the bad points and I happily drive this car every day with no faults or issues, its my daily and I have covered around 5000 miles since owning it. I could honestly rely on this car for a journey around Europe to get me there reliably, safely and comfortably.



I’m not pushing to sell or get rid of it, but if someone is interested in the car, I would swap for another piece of 80’s German technology, preferably a mk2 Golf.



The for sale price of the car is £800ono.
