'Automatic door light switch' not working- Advice please? (Mk2f polo coupe).

Featured Replies

Hi can someone offer advice on how to repair this?

The light switch for the front doors 'open/close mechanism' isn't working (lights don't go on/off) when doors open and close. The interior light does light up when switched on/ off manually in the car however.

Does anyone know how to go about repairing this?

Thanks!.

Have you checked the switch, mounted to the bodywork.. Its like a plunger that the door presses is, then when you open the door it releases the plunger and that activates the light?.. They cost about £10 from euro car parts, or I may take the one off my breadvan if you need one, as I'm not using that currently

Hi mate, yes checked the switches. They go in and out- drivers side will sometimes turn the light on when I press it in with my finger, But it mostly doesnt work. The drivers side does nothing.

Is there any wiring that may be needed, do do you think a new part will be needed?

Thanks!.

Just check theres a live coming to the switch, clean all the contacts up, or buy a new one!
