hey doods picked up a polo Tues of breeze speed on here but has some sort of bad idle issue, when first started in the morning its really lumpy and seems like it wants to die I have to hold the throttle at idle not for the engine not to shake. and once going its so flat it hardly moves with my foot flat to the floor but once it picks up then its fine, but still lumpy as hell on idle. I've changed the coolant temp sensor witch was provided with the car. but still no change!...

any ideas ?

Lambda sensor or poorly setup AFM?

I'd try unplugging the Lambda first see if it makes a differance.

with my NZ i found replacing the vacuu hoses helped alot, got some 8mm ht leads too and it ran a treat

yeah was thinking about doing the vacuum hoses as they do look old! and will try unplugging lambda see if it helps. I'm new to the mk2f I've had a polo 6n until a couple days ago.. what do you mean poorly set up AFM? (air flow meter) ??

air flow meter, if it takes too many knocks it can play up. try the vacuum hoses, they need to be tight and firm so not to seep pressure. you can also adjus / clean the air / fuel screw on the tb to get an even idle
