Sounds like it could be a relay problem? Have you checked that?

Rather than guess at the cause (and spend unnecessary money), I would suggest that you get in there armed with a multimeter, test-lamp and the wiring diagram.

Regards.

Hello,

A fuse is the troublemaker, but first read.

So when the hazzards work fine, the relay is not the problem. You only have one relay for everything.

When you put the stalk up and down with ignition off and the lights go on on both sides, that means that the stalk-switches on the steering column are working fine.

BUT these contacts don't have anything to do with the indicators, it is another electric system, but it shows me that the connectors are connected to the stalk-switches.

Your faultdiscription was very good with mentioning the working hazzards.

Cos with the hazzard-switch you only switch from ignition (15)(fused) for the hazzards to Plus (30)(unfused!!!) and thats the fault i guess.

Your polos is a 1999 your avatar says.

My curreent flow diagrams tells me that the whole indicatorsystem for normal use gets ignition (15) from fuse number 22. It is a 5Ampere Fuse in tan/brown colour.

troubleshooting:

Get free sight on your fusebox in front of your centralelectricbox under your steeringwheel.

The third vertical fuse from the right side is the 5A tan/brown Fuse.

I bet this fuse is burned.

Plz check that out and tell us all.

cheers

Christian
