This was my 1st accident done at a roundabout where the person in front pulled out and then stopped suddenly. I'd already looked right to see whats coming and hit the back of them, only 5 mph

some more progress. The rear disc conversion is complete and bled. rear windows and internal trim are in along with seats and carpet

110922_160237.jpg

110922_160246.jpg

my loom is in a real bad way, its gotta come out. the stuby red and yellow wire at the front is the fuel pump that burn through and re-routed down a live, I am the tenth owner by the way

110922_160259.jpg

ok so got the new dash loom and fitted it, a simple plug and play set up so it didn't take too long

111007_141811.jpg

got the replacement dash in too

111007_164410.jpg

the windows are in except the windscreen and sunroof

no wax

Photo0008.jpg

Photo00041.png

added a pinstripe. darker than the original but I like it, more subtle but works well

Photo0012.jpg
Photo0011.jpg

added some smoked rear lights

Photo0009.jpg

these were the how the alloys looked when i got them from the brakers yard for £80

To begin with it was a case of fixing the mechanics as the broke and once it was a steady runner `I started to improve it.

A pair of these went in

Been along time since I updated the thread

I became the owner of this,

25062011087_zpsaaacf7ef.jpg

rear ended GT

IMAG0041_zps02e565bc.jpg

sadly it was way beyond repair and it turns out the cam belt had lost 31 teeth in a row and killed a piston and the head. The car got parted and cut up and a GT converion headded towards my black coup.

This greeted me the other day
20150530_092713_zpspxvuy960.jpg
thanks

also some more bits arrived in the post

fog lights and loom
20150611_195026_zpswizotdhf.jpg

I wont fit them right away, will measure the loom and get doubles made and everthing cleaned up

also a newman 270 cam
20150611_195247_zpsycyfwtnv.jpg

got some spares out and started building this up, G40 inlet

20150712_143629_zpssjliu7mt.jpg
gonna try the other direction from the ported inlet and see if small holes accelerate the air flow to improve performance

this arrived today, oil catch tank
20150813_111124_zpsgxgtfdvf.jpg

been having a pressure problem since upping the power resuliting in oil seeping from the rocker bolts

also noticed that the whole bay gets really hot, even the bonnet support

Fitted the catch tank. had to use a horn bracket to get it in the right place and the captive nut filled the recess in the bulk head so it sat flush

thanks, its starting to get there. first four or five years were spent on maintainence and body work, only in the last year i've been able to work on the engine as the car and my skills were ready.

I think there is still a few more horses to be found but thats always the feeling no matter how many you have

Just went back to the beginning to look at what you added, been through more than I thought with the bump as well. God knows I've nearly done that many times when people pull out then suddenly stop.

yeah it was quate annoying, especially as the roundabout was clear and she just stopped but there you go. there areworse accidents to have so i'll stick with that one. the front pannel was very rusty on the top and would have needed replacing in a year or two anyway so it got the job done
