mk2 breadvan (breadbin)

Featured Replies

Heyy

I thought I'd start a build thread for my mk2 polo breadvan, or the Breadbin as what is been nicknamed.

It was only supposed to be a cheap temporary car so i could get around until i could afford some thing better after writing off my 6n2 in last years snow.

However every time i have tried to buy a new car something happens which means the Breadbin manages to stay , its almost like a rusty curse. :-/

After the last attempt to purchase a new car fell through I have decided to keep it and start carrying out some mods .

As it sits now its essentially standard however parts have been ordered to get it looking a bit more hot hatch and a little less grandad's sunday run around.

I'm not sure of the exact route I'm going to take with it but I can promise you its going to be different.

Thanks for looking

Oli

Don't you like it? :(

I have one bready too, and I love it!!

:D

Good luck on getting a new ride (and remember, if you don't want the bready anymore, I can buy you some parts for mine). :D

Post "winter" update

The Breadbin has been made second best these last few months. While still being my daily drive almost all "car part money" has been spent on something else with only the essentials being purchased making her look a little shabby in the past months :-(

So with a few days spent cleaning her up ready for the warmer weather she looks a little bit more respectable. Unfortunately it's still on odd wheels at the moment however that should be changing very soon :D

Future plans?

The Breadbin while still remaining my daily for the time being has actually received a new owner, a deal was made before the end of last year with a good friend in order to finance a new project .So the old girl will be changing hands in the next couple of months. It has always been a love hate relationship in the fact I loved to hate it however the truth be told it has never let me down no matter how much abuse I put it through and has always been fun to drive.

What has replaced the Breadbin?

long story short its another mk2 , a brown ratty mk2 saloon

Shame on you for hating on your breadbin! there epic run abouts not to be sniffed at lol whats the deal with the 2 alloys? why only 2? got any centre caps by any chance for them? I'm in need :( and there be plenty of poke to be found outta them if you tinker a little with a few mods ;)

Unfortunately I don't have any centre caps for them .

I have all 4 wheels, the other 2 have just never found their way onto the car due to the back steels being seized on and haven't ever gotten round to getting them off .

And honestly I'm quite attached to the Breadbin
