For Sale - Roll Cage to fit Mk1/2/2F

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I am selling the roll cage that came in my mk1 when I bought it.

I've decided to make my own as I have the tools and access to a bender, if you have seen my build thread you will know that I will be triangulating the from turrets through the bulkhead and silly things like that, so I figure I may as well sell this to buy the steel to weld one of my own design instead of cutting this one to suit my needs.

This is a bolt in cage as shown. It looks a bit wonky as I've not bolted it up for the photo but don't worry about that as it sits straight when it's bolted into a car and not roughly assembled on the living room floor.

It's made by a firm called Matter who no longed exist as they were incorporated into Safety Devices.

It was originally in this car

It came out of my mk1 however it will fit your mk2/2f.

I'm in Basingstoke. I'm happy to deliver if you need it, at cost, or put it on a pallet.

I'm asking £350 for it.

Cheers

hi, will it require any cutting of the dash in a mk2? Do you know if it complies with msa or fia rules? thanks

It will require the dash to be cut (I think!), and I have no idea if it meets MSA/FIA specs I'm afraid. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Cheers

Depends on what msa events you are wanting to use it for,

Sorry Saf - didn't see your post.

Now sold I'm afraid.

No worries pal.

Modifying my mk1 golfs cage to go in the mk1 polo now, so all's good.

Cheers!
