Bella my 6n2 SDI

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Been on clubpolo for a while now, having previously owned 2 6n's neither of them were anything special so i never started a build thread.

Now I have a 6n2, abit more time on my hands and my pay goes up in February I thought why not, so here she is, Bella.

She is a 1.9 SDI, very standard, with 160,00 mile on the clock, few little niggles but not nearly as bad a my last 6n.

Things to fix so far:

Interior lights - dials not lighting up, nor interior light.

Fuel gauge - either shows full or empty (presume this is the sender?)

Some body work issues - everything you would expect from a car of its age

Plans so far, All the standard stuff really:

Alloys (already picked up some bbs solitudes)

Coilovers (first thing Ill be purchasing in February)

Abit of ICE (got some stuff left over from the 6n)

Interior (again got a GTI interior left over from the 6n - just need some 3 door door cards)

GTI grills and fogs

Fix all of the above

May look at wrapping the roof at some point

Just going for a tidy, clean and practical polo really, with some extra touches along the way.

I'll let some picture of the past few weeks do some talking.

Enjoy.

New headunit went in, along with some FLI door speakers I had lying around.

Cleaned up the engine bay.

I then took a trip down to bristol to see the misses, the alternator went. £250 later the car was back on the road.

I picked up some GTI grills and and fogs off someone on here.

After, much better.

Giving her a good clean and getting the seats in tomorrow weather permitting, so will get some better of her with the BBS Solitudes on.

Cheers for reading.

Best colour for 6n2s. Is the same colour as mine but it is especially when all polished up.

cheers mate, yeah the colour is winning me round, wasnt to sure to start off with, hopefully get to give it a polish tomorrow.

I wasn't sure at first either but every one seems to love it. Looking forward to updates though, can see what mine would of looked like if I'd modified it.

Nice car and solid engines on these.

Plans are sounding good, what's the tax like on the sdi?

  • Author

Cheers mate, yeah seems that way, really wasnt put off by the milage I've heard these engines go forever.

Thanks man, I just hope I do it justice. well if you get the Y reg I hear its only something like £30 a year? unfortunately i think the X is about £120? will confirm tomorrow.

The tax on these is 220 I think.

hmmm was fearing that, haha, I'll check tomorrow.

Might wanna get some 20oddmm spacers for solitudes on the rear, used to run them and they look lost when lowered

Gti grills are a great mod I've just done them on my 6n2 looks loads better look forward to seeing it on the bbs :)

Thanks mate, yeah just checked and it looks like £220 is about the same for a Y reg.

So, managed to get a wash in this morning, unfortunately the weather turned so didn't get to wax her. Looks better though, and also got the solitudes on.
