To be honest Iv fucked around a lot and you'll be surprised that some things don't make the difference you'd imagine - weather seems to have more of an effect! What's your base timing set at? I also need to write some part numbers down off your car lol

I feel I should have fucked around more! Base timing is at 'z' with VAC off and plugged. What numbers are they then?

5-6 base I guess, the mk2 dizzy has quite a lot of total timing in them so you can't really go too wild on the base timing anywho, most AFH's I know that have been tweaked on a RR with carbs have ended up with a base timing of 6-7 deg I believe

Damper nut pitch varies, but it's usually 1.25 not 1.5.

I can get a pair, but not by Saturday.

Considering bringing a 1.6 16v bottom end. Bit late to find out if anyone would want it, and it's a bit heavy to drag about for nothing.

Spoke to Aldon today, they didn't seem that open to any carb tweaking unfortunately. Its all down to time really. I think they must be expecting a lot more than the fourteen or so cars on our list.
